In preparation for the 2012 OUTreach Pride Awards, we are asking you to help us identify our community’s heroes. The Pride Awards will recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to our community through their leadership, activism and service. Recognition is one of the greatest ways to encourage and perpetuate further acts of courage and change, so we are asking you to take part in the nomination process. OUT Reach Southern Alberta Society (formely GALA/LA) is looking for Youth Leaders. Youth Leaders enhance the experience and can help to open up spaces for informal peer-to-peer education, support, and role modeling. Want to get involved?

After a year of discussion with Chief Tom McKenzie and Sergeant Dan Walton along with Diversity Officers Constable Les Vonkeman and the late Constable Sheldon Twigg, the Lethbridge Regional Police Department (LRPS) and OUT Reach Southern Alberta Society (GALA/LA) have committed to the creation of an LGBTQ police/community liaison committee.

We are currently inviting the submission of letters of interest from individuals interested in putting their name forward for consideration. read more>>
